1. Took school summative on Kamehameha I Effects after unification.

2. Brief review of what happened after Kamehameha I dies - Liholiho Kamehameha II is new ruler, along with Kamehameha I's most influential wives - Keopualani and Ka'ahumanu.

Overthrow of the Kapu System reading past out , read in class - no notes needed.

3. Introduce new benchmark: Why did foreigners come to Hawaii and what were their impacts, socially, politically, and economically on Hawaii.

4. Started in class to read and take notes on Sandalwood trade.



Homework:

1. Finish taking notes on Sandalwood trade, Quiz tomorrow.

1. Students turned in Part 1 of their take home summative - Kamehameha Commemorative Plaque writing.
2. Worked on Kamehameha effects review sheet for tomorrow's in class school summative. The in class school summatives are the common assessments given to all 7th graders at MMS over specific benchmarks.

1. Study for summative.
2. Complete and have parent sign Make a Difference project planner (see Friday, July 9th - Making a Difference take home summative - Part 2). This is due tomorrow.

4 . Watched first part of video - Ancient Art of Hawaiian Lua (covers the rise and accomplishments of Kamehameha the Great and the Hawaiian Martial Arts - Lua.

- Students are to take notes - Kamehameha I Flow chart - of events in Kamehameha's life.

5. Students given their TeenBiz Account logins, and received in their inbox the assigned reading of Kamehameha I.

1. Login into your teen biz account, open email reading, take the short answer (multiple choice).

Print out results, bring to class by Thursday, July 8th. This should give students time to try logging in, report any problems, if any, and to take the multiple choice.
