In Class:

*Groups continued to work on flow map for events that led to overthrow. Core 5 groups will need to come in during lunch. They were told to eat during wiki recess.

Red 7 Social Studies blog is meant for the students and their parents in Mr. Wong's social studies classes. A brief review of the day will be submitted along with any materials that were handed out. Please use the blog to review what was covered as well as a resource if you lost or misplaced any of your handouts or homework papers. *Question marks meant that more details needed about person involved in overthrow. Corrections can be made. Suggested they go through flow map first so that they can see what they missed.

*Watched video about Lili'uokalani (repeat of yesterday)

*Students worked on reasons why overthrow occurred

*Students who did not get stanzas initialed had time in class to show me their work.

*Students turned in revised MI Assignment on plantation inequity

*Students also turned in Tic Tac Toe intersession assignment

1. Type out 4 plantation stanzas on bottom half of paper. Leave room at the middle for pop up.

*Go to "file"

*Click on page setup

*change top and bottom margins to .5 (optional to change side margins to 1 or .5)

In Class:

*Students given time to revise stanzas in class. Feedback given, but students are still not looking at the readings and pulling out details of inequity, cultural diffusion and details about plantation pidgin.

*Students given back Multiple Intelligence Assignment on Inequity. Feedback will be on Edline.net Major problem is students not giving examples of inequity on the plantation.

Homework:

1. Revise MI Assignment if you have a "R"

2. Revise stanzas 1, 2, 3 and 4 if need to. (LAST DAY IS TOMORROW)

CAMP ERDMAN FUNDRAISING PAPERS GIVEN OUT TODAY.

In Class:

*Reviewed benchmark about the plantation

*Gave students time in class to work on last stanza for ballad (cultural diffusion)

*Students also given time to correct past stanzas and show me corrections

Homework:

1. Stanza 2 (cultural diffusion due tomorrow)

2. Revised stanzas 1, 3 and 4 if needed

I DID NOT COLLECT THE CULTURAL DIFFUSION TIC TAC TOE FORMATIVE SINCE STUDENTS NEEDED IT FOR THEIR STANZA 2 SECTION. WILL BE COLLECTING TOMORROW.
